Sister Mecham's Blonde Moment

We got a letter from Jenny yesterday. She made the newspaper... she started her bed on fire!! She was cooking a homemade pot pie that someone gave them. When it came time to get it out of the oven, they didn't have any oven mitts, so Jenny used a towel and then threw it on her bed. The towel was smoldering and lit the bed on fire. When the fire alarm went off, they thought it was because they burnt the pot pie a bit. Then Jenny saw the flames shooting up from her bed. There wasn't a fire extinguisher, so she threw pans of water on it. The fire department responded and by the time they got there, Jenny and her comp about had it out. They finished the job and then threw the bed out in the snow. They are lucky and so are we...not to have to replace all her clothes and things!! Some members that Jenny is working with bought her new bedding and some other members (that shovel their walk every time it snows) bought them a fire extinguisher. And they've been given lots of hot pads!!! She is hoping her letter next week won't be so exciting....so do we! Her mission president laughed and said that he would expect that out of the Elders, but not the sisters.
